"I know a good matcha place in Dallas." It's a sentence I find myself saying surprisingly often whenever a friend suggests grabbing a drink. Without fail, I'm talking about Chasen. I've had matcha all over the DFW metroplex, but this is the one place I keep coming back to. The café itself is small and cozy, with a warmth that's difficult to manufacture. Every detail of the space feels intentional, as though you've wandered into someone's thoughtfully curated living room rather than a coffee shop. The staff matches that atmosphere perfectly; friendly, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. It's the sort of place that reminds you why people fall in love with small businesses in the first place. I've also had the pleasure of chatting with the owner a few times, who is often there when I visit. That kind of presence says a great deal. It's clear that Chasen isn't simply being operated; it's being cared for. And then there's the matcha. The menu is thoughtfully curated, and once you find the drink that resonates with you, it's remarkably difficult to order anything else. I was not very impressed with the matcha at Cha Sen. I expected a richer and smoother matcha flavor, but the drink tasted quite watery and lacked depth. The matcha flavor was too light for my preference, so it did not feel as satisfying as I hoped. For a matcha drink, I was looking for something more balanced, creamy, and flavorful. Unfortunately, this one did not meet my expectations. Overall, it was not terrible, but it was definitely not memorable, and I probably would come back specifically for trying again.

Chasen has grown substantially since I first arrived at their shop in 2024! The matcha consistently is great quality and the process they do to deliver your drinks are great, I do love having the occasional treats provided at the front of the register, as well. Their matcharistas are great, as well. Super friendly and always take care with matcha! Only issue is accessibility. It’s a hassle to find parking in the area chosen for this place, as well as being inside. The place is simply too small for the volume of customers they get. It always feels cramped, loud, and suffocating, all you wanna do after getting your things is leave.

Super sweet baristas! The matcha was amazing, I had a seasonal one they had going on for Valentines day and hope they bring it back next year I'm so obsessed. The place itself is so cozy and cute. I'd definitely come back, hoping the Valentines drink returns next year.

A hidden gem. This matcha bar is so cute and the staff were all working hard and so friendly. Even though it was busy we got our drinks really quick. The matcha was delicious. Can tell it’s a traditional matcha and not a cheap matcha. I got the matcha with taro foam and it was amazing. The matcha loaf I got though was ok. It was really dry if not taking a bit with the cherry glaze that’s on top. Otherwise it was a hit and I would definitely go back again to try more matcha drinks
